Terms, Privacy & Uninstall
Terms & Conditions
These terms are an agreement between you and PDFile (“PDFile”, “we”, “us”) and cover your use of the PDFile software (“the Software”). By downloading or using the Software you accept these terms.
- License. PDFile grants you a free, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Software on any number of computers, for personal or business use.
- Restrictions. You may not sell, rent or sublicense the Software, or distribute modified copies of it. The Software includes open-source components (pdfcpu, PDF.js, go-webview2, Go x/image and x/text) that remain under their own licenses.
- Your files. You keep all rights to the documents you open and create with the Software, and you are responsible for having the right to convert or change them.
- No warranty. The Software is provided “as is”, without warranty of any kind. Keep a copy of important documents before converting them.
- Limitation of liability. To the extent permitted by law, PDFile is not liable for indirect or consequential damages, or for loss of data, arising from use of the Software.
- Termination. This license ends automatically if you break these terms. When it ends, delete all copies of the Software.
Privacy Policy
PDFile runs entirely on your computer.
- Your documents stay on your PC. Files are processed locally and are never uploaded to PDFile or anyone else.
- No account, no tracking. The Software collects no personal information, analytics or usage data.
- Local storage. Converted files are saved to the folder you choose (Documents\PDFile by default). The app keeps a small cache in %LOCALAPPDATA%\PDFile. Text to PDF uses the copy of Microsoft Edge already on your PC to lay out your text locally, with a temporary profile that is deleted after each conversion.
- This website serves its own fonts and images and makes no requests to third parties. Our web host may keep standard server logs (IP address, browser type, time of visit) to deliver downloads and prevent abuse.
Uninstall Instructions
PDFile has no installer, so removing it takes a minute:
- Close PDFile.
- Delete PDFile.exe from where you saved it (usually your Downloads folder).
- Press Windows + R, type
%LOCALAPPDATA%\PDFile, press Enter, and delete that folder. - If you pinned PDFile to Start or the taskbar, right-click it and choose Unpin.
Files you converted stay in Documents\PDFile until you delete them.
